Kids & Teens Weekly Art Class
Overview
Fun, hands-on weekly art classes for kids (ages 4–12) and teens (ages 13–17).
Small groups to encourage creativity, build confidence, and develop technique.
Projects change weekly to keep students excited and exploring new media.
When & Where
Weekly sessions: choose one evening or weekend time slot (customizable by location).
Each session is 60–70 minutes depending on age group.
Materials needed; Sketchbook, Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Black Sharpie markers, Oil pastels, Watercolors , Markers,
Class Structure
Warm-up activity: short drawing or creativity exercise to loosen up.
Demonstration: instructor shows techniques and step-by-step guidance.
Project time: students create their own version of the project with individualized help.
Share & reflect: group show-and-tell to build communication and pride in work.
Clean-up: students learn responsibility for workspace.
Typical Projects
Drawing fundamentals: shapes, proportion, light study
Painting: oil pastels, watercolor, acrylic layering, color mixing
Mixed media art, collage: texture, pattern, and composition
Printmaking basics: foam prints, monoprints
Digital art intro (teens): drawing on iPads and basic software workflows
Themed weeks: seasonal projects, art history spotlights
